Common questions

  • How do I delete my account?

Open the app, go to Account → Delete account. The flow asks you to re-authenticate (passkey, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google) and warns you if you have an active subscription, since deleting the account does not cancel an active subscription on Apple's side. After confirmation, your account, vlogs, cloud backups, and identifiers are removed within 30 days. We retain a soft tombstone for 30 days to handle billing reconciliation, then everything is purged.

  • How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancellation goes through your Apple ID, not through AutoVlog. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, choose Subscriptions, find AutoVlog, and tap Cancel Subscription. Your paid features remain available until the end of the current billing period.

  • Can I refund a one-time AI vlog pack?

AI vlog packs (10, 20, or 100 vlogs) are one-time purchases — they don't auto-renew, so there's nothing to cancel. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by AutoVlog: visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and request a refund for the pack charge. AI vlogs you have already generated from the pack can't be refunded since the content was already produced on your behalf.

  • Where are my photos and videos sent?

Photo and video bytes never leave your device. AutoVlog analyses every frame on-device using Apple's Vision framework — quality scoring, duplicate removal, smart cropping, and beat detection all run locally. The optional AI editorial step (titles, descriptions, music selection) sends only metadata — image features, GPS coordinates, EXIF — to our backend, which proxies the request to Anthropic. No images and no video bytes are ever uploaded by the AI flow.

  • What is included in cloud backup?

Cloud backup is opt-in and only available on the Daily Vlogger plan. When enabled, your finished vlog .mp4s are uploaded to our private R2 storage with a per-vlog ceiling of 500 MB and a per-account cap of 50 GB. Source photos and videos are not uploaded — only the rendered, exported vlogs. You can pin individual vlogs for offline access or wipe everything from the app at any time.

  • Does AutoVlog support DJI drone footage?

Yes. AutoVlog automatically detects DJI clips from EXIF Make/Model and AVMetadata, then applies a vertical-aware reframe (16:9 → 9:16, subject- aware, never crops out the action), and speed ramps based on optical flow — 2.5–4× for transit shots, 0.75–1× for hero reveals. No configuration needed.

  • How do I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the AutoVlog charge, and request a refund. If you have an issue we can look into directly, email support@autovlog-app.com.

  • What are the system requirements?

AutoVlog requires an iPhone running iOS 16 or later. We recommend iPhone 13 or newer for the best export performance — typical 45-second vlogs render in 10–20 seconds on iPhone 13 and faster on newer hardware. The app needs Photos access; Location and Notifications are optional.

  • Why does AutoVlog need my location?

Location is used at vlog-creation time to match the music soundtrack to where you filmed — for example, mediterranean tracks for trips to the coast, cinematic Alpine pieces for mountain trips. Location is optional. If you decline, AutoVlog falls back to mood-based selection from our bundled royalty-free library.

  • How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email us at support@autovlog-app.com. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, and a short description of what happened. Screenshots or a screen recording always help. We try to respond within 24 hours.
